Noah's Boutique was AMAZING!

This is my dear sweet friend Kelly who had the boutique in Noah's honor.
Noah absolutely adores her!
THANK YOU KELLY!

The boutique was a blast. We all had so much fun.
For those of you who know Kelly, you know that just being around her is uplifting.
I am so blessed to have such an amazing friend who is willing to serve.
The boutique was so awesome and we had the best turn out. Our dear friends came from all over to support our little family, as well as a lot of Kellys friends who I have never met but were so supportive. Tears were shed, hugs were given, and tons of support was given to our little family to help pay off all Noah's medical debt.

I am SOOOO lucky to have such amazing friends to support me. Thank you Kelly and Jessie for being so good to me. I love you both!

Kelly made these cute aprons to sell and they went flying! I was able to fill a lot of Kelly's home with "Twigs and Twine" decor. I was worried I would not have enough stuff made to fill her beautiful large home. But it all worked out great.

I overwhelmed with the kindness of friends and strangers. We had so many wonderful things donated. Brooke J. made homemade quilts, all our gourmet candies, and tons of cake plates that went flying too. She was amazing. Thank you Brooke. One of Kelly's friend who I had never met surprised us with the coolest decorated witches she had made. They sold in seconds. Thanks you all for being so kind.

I love doing boutiques. I love to here everyones reactions to things. It was fun to see everyone's faces when they would show up and realize this wasn't your normal homemade stuff. I like being able to provide people with unique decor at affordable prices. I know that my talent comes from my Heavenly Father and I am so glad that he knows me well enough to know that I would feel the need to help us get out of this debt. I am grateful for a talent that I could use to help our family.

Thanks to everyone and their support!!! We could not have done it with out you all! It was such an uplifting experience. I appreciate being able to share that amazing experience with all of you!

A good friend of Kellys asked if she could hold a boutique in Noah's honor at her house in November! I am still amazed at the kindness of strangers. So I am off to make more creations.
I will post all the details for that boutique later.

A Boutique in honor of our little Noah!

I am truly blessed to have amazing friends.

As most of you know our little Noah has chronic lung disease and suffers from numerous health issues. To help pay off his medical bills, I teach craft classes and make home decor items to sell at boutiques. (which I love) Our amazing friends, the Ballards, are including our family in their annual service project. Last year they took donations to ship toys and other things to the West Indies. This year, they're taking donations for Primary Childrens Hospital and hosting a boutique in honor of our little Noah!

Saturday October 10th
9a.m. - 3p.m.
(At the Ballard's home in Draper)

All proceeds will be used towards Noah's medical bills. They will also be accepting donations for Primary Childrens Hospital. You can look on their website for the items needed. We will also be tying quilts at the boutique to donate to Primary Childrens Hospital!

I am so excited and truly humbled by the whole experience. It is very hard to let someone serve you when you are the one that is capable of serving others. We know that there are a lot of family's with sick children that are worse off then ours, but we know that this is a blessing and that the Ballard's were inspired. We are very grateful for them.

I'll have a lot of NEW things that I have made just for this boutique. So please come check it out. You're ALL invited! Come do some early Christmas shopping. For those of you who can't make it, I will be posting the things that are left on my Blog and on my ETSY shop the week after the boutique.

Spring/Mother's Day Project

Mother's day is coming fast and I have had a lot of interest in doing a project for the upcoming event.

So here is my latest creation. They are a fun little project that is great for all different occasions. This project would make a great baby shower gift, birthday gift ( great for a little girls room), mother's day gift, just because it is spring gift, and wedding shower gift. Oh, and I recently made one for a wedding gift and used the picture from there wedding announcement. They loved it.

When:

Saturday May 2nd @ 10:00am

Cost: $13.50

The class is on a first come first serve basis. I only have 10 spots available.
All paper will be precut and this is a project that will be finished and ready to go in a gift bag when you leave. You will need to bring a 3 1/2in X 3 1/2in picture. Mine is in sepia. We will cut it into the circle in class. This plaque is free standing. It fits great on a desk, shelf or anywhere.

My cute Valentines

I love these boys. We had a fun Valentines day. Jaxon wanted a heart on his face for his school party. And Noah still points to his cheek and says," Heart here."
Jaxon and Noah surprised Daddy with special notes written on hearts. I just took them down (Feb. 20th) and it was an emotional thing for my boys.We had a fun V-Day dinner for the kids. We had grilled cheese in the shape of hearts. There's not a ton you can do in red and pink when your kids can't have artificial coloring. Can I just say how proud I was of Jax when he brought home his treats from school. He could only have 2 out of 13 because of the coloring and he was so good. He just traded me for chocolate that he could have and said" I can only have natural color, lets give this to a boy who can have the artificial kind."
I absolutely love that little boy!

We had a great time together as a family. We felt the LOVE!

Valentine's Day Projects

Here are some of the Valentine's Day projects I worked on this year. It gives me an excuse to use red and pink which with 2 boys does not happen very often!

Here are the 2 canvas wall hangings that I made for Chad for V-Day. We have been wanting something to hang on either side of our bedroom window. I love the way that they came out. I matched the pattern on the bottom to our bedspread that I made 5 years ago for V-Day for him.

One of my newly created favorites. Candy bars made pretty. I love to give these as Thank Yous or Happy Birthdays. I made over 50 for Christmas.

I had lots of fun making things for everyone. It was great to be stretched in ways I don't normally go, colors I don't normal use. That's one of the reasons I love custom orders.

The Month of December

I know that it has been forever so I thought I would post. We had a great Christmas. December was sort of a whirlwind around here as much as we tried for it to be calm, it just never happens.

Our Christmas tree tradition is to go the day after thanksgiving and pick it out. This year we got one very tall tree instead instead of 2. For all who know me that was a really big deal. I know it is silly, but i absolutely love have 2 trees. We have had 2 trees for the past 5 or 6 years. But it was my turn to sacrifice for the sake of medical debt. But I loved my tree this year just as much!

We went to Vegas in the beginning of the month with Chad on a work trip. We had such a good time together. And the best part, it was practically free for us to go along. Chad had to go to the SASS convention. It stands for Single Action Shooting Society. It was fun for me and the kids to see all of the amazing costumes. They all dress up like old fashion cowboys and the women go all out with their dresses.Chad had to dress up so the boys wanted to be cowboys just like Daddy, of course!

We had a blast. Noah still says,"Me go Las Vegas!"

We went to the Las Vegas Zoo. It was a small, nasty, dirty zoo. But the boys loved it.

We went to the Bass Pro Shop to see Santa and all the fish!

O.K. girls, so here is another class. I thought that this one would make a great Christmas present. I have a lot of people interested in doing them for grandparents gifts.

I know that the holidays are crazy so let me now what day works better. All paper will be precut and this is a project that will be finished and ready to go in a gift bag when you leave. You will need to bring a 5x7 horizontal black and white picture.
The light and all supplies included. But the light bulb is not included.
It is a 30watt 110-120volt light bulb. I will have a sample so you can see what they look like.

Halloween night

Halloween night started off nice with a little chill but as the night went on the rains came down.

The boys loved trick or treating. Noah was so good at using his manners. Every time he was given a candy he was the first to say thank you. That makes me a proud mama. Since the kids can't have artificial coloring we had to trade them candy. Jaxon did great. We had wonderful and thoughtful friends who knew my kids could not eat certain candy so they got stickers and BIG chocolate bars. It was so sweet. Thanks guys for being such thoughtful neighbors and friends.

Jaxon and Jake are little buds. They are so cute together.My little boy is all grown up. Check out our neighbors pumpkins. The kids loved it.

BATMAN and BATGIRL. These to are never apart. They love to play batman all the time. Jaxon and Kate are such good friends.

Every Halloween we have a tradition of going to Pleasant Grove to our good friends house. It is actually in the neighborhood where Chad and I met. The Thayer family is like a second family for me. I lived with them for a while when I went to school. We go there every Halloween. Jaxon and Noah love it. They love to go play at Chelseas house. (Actually Chelsea is grown and married and no longer lives there, but to Jax it is Chelseas house.) I love the spending time with them and the warm home feeling that comes with it. Thank you guys! We loved Halloween!

The Church Halloween Party

Our ward had a great Halloween party. Jaxon picked what we would all be for Halloween this year. Can you tell the boys are into batman. The way I look at it is Chad and I won't be cool in Jaxon's eyes for to much longer so we a fully enjoying it now!

This is me and my little buddy Jake. I love this kid a ton. He reminds me alot of Jax at his age.

Both the boys looked so cute. It was hard to keep track of Noah. We had sprayed his hair black and slicked it over. I am so used to looking for my blonde haired little boy. Even my own sister came and asked my where Noah was and he was standing right in front of herand she did'nt recongnize him.

Ranches Academy Fundraiser

Last Saturday I had a booth at the Ranches Academy Charter school. It was fun and I got to see a lot of people who I don't see all the time. Craft fairs are hard work and I am still recovering.

Pumpkin Land

Two Mondays ago we went to Pumpkin Land for FHE. We go every year and the kids love it. This year we went with Kyle and Adrienne and their family. We had a good time together. We love going there because there's not just pumpkins. They have animals, a corn maze, jump houses, spook alleys and a big park.

Every year we get our picture taken in the same place. It great to look back and see how much the kids have grown.Here's last years picture. Noah is a different boy. They are both grown so much in a year.

They loved the jumpers too. Noah could climb up it all by himself with no braces! I'm sorry Adrienne. I know that this is not the best picture of my sister in laws family. But they look happy. I didn't get any where everyone was looking with my camera. We all had a great time. It's great that we are all close and get to spend time together.

New Family Pictures

O.K. between today and tomorrow I am going to try to get caught up with my blogging. A lot has been going on in the last couple of weeks. A few Sundays ago we took a little drive up to Nunn's park in the Provo canyon to see the beautiful colors of fall. Fall is my favorite time of year. And can I just say that nothing compares to my home state of Connecticut when it comes to fall. This is the time of year that I get home sick.

We had a blast. The kids loved playing in the leaves, I loved the scenery, Chad enjoyed skipping rocks in the river, and we all really enjoyed the peaceful feeling of being together as a family enjoying Heavenly Fathers creations.

This picture was my favorite one of the whole fam. We just used the timer and can I just say that trying to get Noah to look at a stationary object for more the 5 seconds is a huge challenge!

I Love this picture of Chad and the boys. They just adore him. I love how Jaxon head is on Chad's shoulder.

Jaxon took this picture of Chad and I all by himself. He has been able to frame up a good picture since before he could put a whole sentence together. He loves to take pictures.

This ones blurry I know. We need a new camera. Someday. A new camera is beaten out by medical bills on the priority list. But I love this picture blurry or not. Me with my boys!

O.K. this one is my favorite. This was just the boys playing around and Jaxon was making Noah laugh by kissing him. But it looks so sweet and loving. I know I have said it before, over and over, I LOVE MY BOYS!

I'm still recovering from the whirlwind of our first in home boutique, but as promised, here is the recipe for the pumpkin dip that everyone has been raving about. More photos from the boutique and an update to my Etsy shop will follow after I catch up on some much needed zzzzzz's...

Twigs and Twine Pumpkin Butter Dip
(from Taste of Home Magazine with adjustments)

Warning, Highly Addictive!

3/4 cup Dickinson's Pumpkin Butter

(we used 1 cup and plan in the future to use 1 cup pumpkin pie filling and sugar and spices to taste)

1 8oz. package of cream cheese, softened

3/4 cup marshmallow creme (we used a full 7 oz. jar)

1 1/2 Teaspoons ground cinnamon

Process all ingredients in Kitchenaid or beat with a handmixer until smooth.

Chill and serve with sliced apples and gingersnaps. we also served it with a sliced mini baguette which was surprisingly delicious.

I have finally decided to do a boutique in my home. I have done crafts shows before but I have never done anything but classes out of my home, so we will see how it goes. I have been convinced by loving friends. But I am super excited. I want everyone to come and hang out. We are going to have fall treats and apple cider.( I LOVE FALL) There will be Halloween, Fall, Thanksgiving, and Christmas decor. Along with regular all the time decor and gifts that will be just in time for Christmas. There will be tons to walk out the door with but if there is something you like and I don't have anymore or if you want a custom picture item I will have all custom orders done in time to give away for Christmas.

So please help me to spread the news. Tell anybody you want.
I want all to feel invited and welcome.
If things are tight, I know the feeling , just come and hang out!

7. You're gonna miss this.(I love that song) Even the things that drive me a little batty I will miss when they are gone. So, don't take anything for granted, enjoy every moment.
8. Patience is a virtue. I you don't have it, it is O.K. to lock yourself in the closet and take a Mommy moment!

3. To be free of medical debt ( slowly but surely coming along)
4. To continue on the path to becoming a healthier family.
5. To lose 10-20 more pounds. ( I finally budged the scale and have lost 30 so far!!!!!)
6. To be able to walk and run with my kids and grand kids when I'm old. A.K.A to have better hips and knees that don't hurt.
7. A finished basement.
8. A whole new wardrobe. I know its petty but I want clothes that are cute and fit me right.

VEGGIE TALES at the State Fair

We went to the fair on Tuesday night to see the Veggie Tales live in concert! It was so much fun. My boys had a blast and Chad and I were just beaming watching them dance and sing along. The only time they took their eyes of the stage was to dance around. We had a great time spending time as a family. It was totally worth the $13.00. Yes, it was only $13.00 for our whole family to get into the fair and go to the concert. (yes, I'm giggling that kind of savings makes me very excited)

O.k. so I think that I have the cutest boys. ALL 3 OF THEM! I love watching Chad with the boys. He gets so happy and emotional like me when we sees the boys get so excited about something.

I love this picture! This is Noah's WOW face. When he gets excited he makes this face and then whispers, WoW! I love this little ball of fire!

So here are my Veggie Tale boys. They were so excited to get hats. They haven't taken them off. Noah took a nap in his yesterday.

We ran into some old friends, the Daniels at the fair. Jaxon hit it off with their little girl Kennedy. They were so cute together.
The boys loved the animals. Jaxon almost got peed on by a cow and Noah wanted nothing to do with the big pig that was trying to get his food. My little chunk could out fight a pig anyday for food!
We had so much fun at the Fair. Thanks for looking, I know there were a ton a pictures of this trip but I did'nt want to leave anything out!

My baby comes home tomorrow night! He called me this morning to tell me that there is " only ONE more sleep" until he comes home! He is having a blast and being just as goofy as ever. He will miss camp a ton but we are happy to have him coming home. We are going to the airport with balloons to welcome him home! I miss that silly face!

This picture was taken at the Hill Cumorah Pageant. They went up to NY on one of their field trips. Since my parents were involved in the pageant for so long they pulled some strings and the boys got to try on some of the costumes.

Jaxon at Camp GeedaPapa

As most of you know our little Jaxon has been in Connecticut at camp Geedapapa. My parents every year have a camp for the older grandkids. Jaxon is having the time of his life. One of his favorite things to do at camp is to play on "papa's ropes" and to go down the zip line. He loves being able to play in the woods and looking for all the animals. He called me the other morning and he was so excited to tell me he was feeding the wild turkeys. We are missing him tons but are excited about his opportunity to learn from his grandparents and to have fun with his cousins. Thanks Mom and Dad. I will try to keep everyone updated on Jaxon's adventures as soon as I receive more pictures.

Look at him go! He's a monkey! He's fearless and having a blast!

* SIDE NOTE: My Dad climbs trees and puts up rope courses for a living. I grew up in trees and I trust my Dad completely so don't worry about me, it doesn't make me nervous at all!

Miracle Whip Party!

Well I had an interesting night last night. I had taken the boys to the pool in the morning and put sun screen on all of us before we left, but only one of us got fried ME! I look like a lobster-after it's cooked! Chad has been out of town this week and I didn't trust Jax with the spray aloe so Kambery came over to help me. She said to try mayonnaise. A doctor told her it would take the burn out. So late last night Kambrey and Tammy ( to of my neighbors) rubbed miracle whip all over me while I held my nose. I hate mayonnaise and the smell of it makes me want to gag. So you can see how much I wanted the burning to be gone. IT WORKED! It took a lot (not all) of the burn out. The mayo started to melt on me.

So now from my own stupidity we now know that mayo actually does work to take the burn out! I have the best neighbors! Thanks Kambrey and Tammy! And thanks to Liz for the fan!

"Holy Cow Batman it's Jaxon"

BATMAN, BATMAN everything is Batman lately. Jaxon loves superheros. Right now everything is Batman. Noah loves everything Jax loves and so our little (or not so little) Noah even with his speech issues can say "Batman".( The speech therapist was shocked).

Jax turned 4 in May and of course we had to have a batman party. Jaxon kept on asking if Batman could come to his party so I got online every costume was almost $90.00 to rent or $120.00 to buy. So I went to buy some other CHEAP party stuff and come across a Batman suit for $30.00 with free shipping. So we surprised Jax and Batman came to his party. He was totally scared until I told him it was our good friend Brady who is also our Bishop. Then he started talking about going to fight all the bad guys. All the kids had a great time.

So the next day we went to church and Jaxon sees the Bishop and then asks me" Mommy, is the Bishop going to be Batman at church?" I said no of course and he came back with " Why Mom Jesus doesn't want the bad guys in the church." I was speechless! I love that child!

I love living with my bat boys! Hope you have a happy day!

Happy Father's Day!

We as a family are so grateful today for all of the wonderful man we have in our lives. We have the best Fathers, Papas, Grandpas and Uncles and this family even has a Boubacar and a Collin. We are so grateful for the love and support that these amazing men show our family. When we asked Jaxon today what he loves about all of these men, the most common answer was that they wrestle with me! When I think of all of these men I think of honor, respect, humility, humor and most importantly love. I want to let all of you know that I have the best husband ever. Yes he is better then yours :) He is such a good Daddy. I couldn't have asked for better for my boys! I want my Daddy to know that I will alway be a daddy's little girl. I admire him so much. ( O.K. I'm crying now) He has truly made me a better person and has should me through example how a women should be treated. Craft and Decor Classes

O.K. girls, so here is another class. I thought that with Father's Day being just around the corner I would make something for my hubbys office, and this is what was created. The quote can be changed from Father to Grandpa or Papa. Come have fun, have a treat, get away and get a gift made for your hubby or Dad.

When: May 31st @ 10:30

Cost: $11.00

The class is on a first come first serve basis. All paper will be precut and this is a project that will be finished and ready to go in a gift bag when you leave. You will need to bring a 3 1/2 in. X 3 1/2 in. picture.
I can help you print and resize pictures if needed.

Here is a little gift the boys and I made for Mother's Day saying, "Thanks for helping us grow"

Happy Mother's Day! To all of you who don't know already, I have the best Mom ever. She is a terrific example of everything a mother should be. She amazes me. She was a great mother to have growing up and still continues to be one of my best friends. I am so grateful for her unconditional love and support from miles away. I couldn't have asked for a better Mom -maybe not such an over achiever:)- and an even better Geeda ( that is the word for Grandma in our family). My boys adore her. I hope that when I continue to grow up I can emulate some of her amazing qualities.
I also have been blessed with wonderful grandmothers, a Helen, aunts, a mother-in law, a sister- in law , supportive girl friends and awesome sisters who I am so grateful for. I am so lucky to be surrounded, whether close or miles away by such strong and loving women. I hope that you feel the joy I have felt today. Have a great Mother's Day!

Well here I am starting my blogging adventure. I always get writers block in the beginning so I figured I will start with a little tour of my home and some of my favorite things in it. There are 4 of us that abide here and we love it. In my spare time I make crafts and teach craft classes so I will be using this blog for that also. Hope you enjoy.

I made this huge canvas for Chad for Christmas we all love it.
It came out better then I thought it would.
